Well, the St George’s Day celebrations were a huge success with lots of people dressing in Red & White which was great to see. We now look forward to celebrating the Queen’s Official Birthday on the day of Trooping the Colour which this year falls on June 13th. Everyone is invited to this event as there will be the usual round of Karaoke and of course Yvonne will be laying on one of her buffets which always prove very popular. We can also reveal the Concert Chairman will be in attendance to oversee the events of the evening which always adds another dimension to the proceedings The closing party for the Cumberland Ex-Servicemen’s Club will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 14th June this year. We always close in the afternoons during the summer but will be open as usual every evening from 8.30pm. Our Blackpool re-union which will take place on Sunday 9th August this year is gathering momentum with lots of people already booking themselves into various Hotels and Guest Houses in the seaside town. The format for the re-union will be as follows: If you would like to join us for a drink on Saturday afternoon (8th) from 3pm we can be found in Churchill’s Pub on Topping Street close to the British Legion for Little Frankie Whittle’s sing-a-long. Although this is just an informal arrangement it proved to be very good last year. Saturday evening we all do our own thing whatever that may be but then on the Sunday we all congregate at the Queen’s Hotel Theatre Bar situated on the South Shore Promenade at around 1pm for Miss Patricia’s Olde Thyme Music Hall, then from 4pm, we have secured the services of the Central Bowling Club on Bloomfield Road where the concert chairman will make an appearance and we shall run karaoke very much in the style we are accustomed to in Benidorm. We look forward to seeing you all very soon in Benidorm or in Blackpool in August. All in all, the Cumberland Bar is still proving we are still the Premier Karaoke Venue in Spain!! Regards Nigel and Yvonne
